Human impacts on the environment
How do our choices change habitats, and how can evidence help us protect them?
Seven one-hour lessons for Years 5–6. Begin with habitat changes, pollution and an initial conservation proposal, then choose an investigable question, gather evidence, weigh possible actions and communicate a revised recommendation. Students may use a teacher-approved school-ground investigation or the supplied fictional school scenario entirely on iPads. Questions, organisms, evidence methods and final recommendations are open to student choice. All seven lessons can be assigned individually in My classes. Keep a copy of earlier work and revisit it as ideas change. Example data is invented and clearly labelled. Year 6 focuses on changing habitat conditions; Year 5 builds on survival needs and science-based decisions.
